Experience

  • Presently working as Senior Lecturer at Dept. of Computer Science, Rolwalla Computer Centre, Gujarat University since 1997.

  • Worked as visiting faculty for teaching students of M.C.A. and PG-D.C.S.A. at Dept. of Computer Science, Rollwala Computer Centre, Gujarat University.   1994-97.

  • Worked as Research Associate at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad, 1993.

  • Worked as Lecturer in Computer Science at the Banasthali Vidyapith ( Institution deemed University ).

Present Job Responsibilities

  • Teaching Students of M.C.A. and PG-D.C.S.A.

  • Project Coordinator  for the projects done by the MCA students in semester V and VI in industry. Responsible for the successful completion of  students  project. Evaluate the progress of projects by  periodic presentations done by the students at the department.

  • Responsible for Placement Programme of M.C.A. students since 1998.  Our students are now very well placed in the best of IT companies across the Country and overseas.

1.Book - "Computer Abhimukh Sankhayatmak Reetiyan" (with Dr. Rekha Govil), Pitamber Publishing Company, New Delhi. Received First Prize from U.P. Govt. and Second Prize from Dept. of Electronics, Govt. of India.

2."Aakanksha: A Programming Language in Hindi Especially Designed for Young Children" jointly with Dr. Rekha Govil. Published in Proceedings of  ‘Akshara  94 ‘  on Information Technology Applications in Language, Script & Speech, BPB Publications, 1994.

3."Aakanksha: A Programming Environment especially for Young Children" jointly with Dr. Rekha Govil. Published in Proceedings of Education Computing (EDUCOMP)96.

Talks & Conferences

  • Delivered a series of lectures in CALT (Computer Assisted Learning & Teaching) training programme in July, 1991.

  • Attended an Advanced Course on Natural Language Processing held at NCST, Bombay, December 9-13, 1991.

  • Delivered a series of lectures in CALT training programme in April, 1992.

  • Presented a paper : Aakanksha : A Programming Language designed for Children jointly with Dr. Rekha Govil at Indian Science Congress, Goa, January 1992.

  • Presented a paper : Aakanksha : A Programming Environment especially for Young Children jointly with Dr. Rekha Govil. at TTTI, Chandigarh, India.

  • Delivered series of lectures on C + + in teachers training programme on “Object Oriented Concepts and Programming” for college teachers of  computer science,Gujarat University held at Rollwala Computer Centre , March 1999.

  • Jointly Coordinated teachers training programme on “Internet Programming ( Web Enabled Application Development using HTML, DHTML and Java Script ” for college teachers of  computer science, Gujarat University held at Rollwala Computer Centre, March 2001.

  • Helped in organizing, as Organizing Committee Member, a  National Workshop on “Teaching cluster  & Distributed Computing” organized jointly by Department of Computer Science, Gujarat University and IEEE, Gujarat Section and IEEE, Computer society for teachers of various post graduate departments of universities and colleges.

  • Delivered lecture series on C for engineering faculty organized at department of computer science, Rollwala computer Centre under INDO-Canadian Project running at LDCE.

  • Attended Short term training program on “C# programming”   sponsored by AICTE-ISTE, conducted at Department of Computer Science, Rollwala Computer Centre, Gujarat University, LD college of engineering during 6-1-2003 to 18-1-2003.

  • Helped in organizing, as organizing committee member , a  national level student paper contest and technical symposium “SPCTS 2003” organized jointly by department of computer science, Gujarat University and IEEE, Gujarat Section.

  • Participated in “CIT Conference Cum Exoposition on Communication & Information Technology” in Jan 2004.

  • Attended 5 days Microsoft teachers training program on “Microsoft .NET-Train the  Trainer Program”.

  • Attended  Microsoft “Embedded Essentials” seminar held at Taj Residency, Bangalore.

  • Judged many programming contest at various institutions.

Softwares

  • Developed a Statistical Subroutine package.

  • Designed a programming language in Hindi and translator for it, especially for School Children as part of Ph.D. degree.
